NY PLEASANT VALLEY — Fire safety board defers hair salon renovation pending building code compliance. The Pleasant Valley Fire and Life Safety Review Board, meeting January 7 at Town Hall, unanimously recommended withholding approval of Carla Senft's change-of-occupancy application to convert 3 Charles Street into a hair salon until multiple safety and environmental issues are resolved. Concerns included inadequate Knox boxes, unclear electrical panels, unsecured septic hazards, and potential groundwater contamination from hair-salon chemicals.
The board also unanimously appointed alternate member John Hopper to a regular board seat, filling a vacancy left by Ken Luby.
